St. Paul's Co-ed College Alumni Association - SPCCAA

Dear Alumni and friends,

The SPCC Alumni Choir will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of its establishment by holding a concert on Saturday, 27 November 2010, at Sir Robert Kotewall Hall, St. Paul’s Co-educational College, 33 MacDonnell Road, Hong Kong.

This landmark 30th Anniversary Concert will feature conductors Mr Francis Chung, Mr Jimmy Chan, Ms Stephanie Chan and Mr Geoffrey Ko, former Music Masters of SPCC through generations, as well as Ms Carmen Koon and Mr Barnabas Chung, alumni and conductors of the Alumni Choir. The current crop of SPCC singers will also be represented through performances by the SPCC Senior Mixed Voice Choir and SPCC Primary School Choir, while our youngest generation will be represented in the SPCC Alumni’s Children's Choir.

In addition, numerous overseas alumni will make a special trip back to Hong Kong to participate in this memorable occasion by singing with us or joining us in the audience.

If you are interested in joining the Alumni Choir, please complete and return the Registration Form to us before 15 September 2010.

If you are unable to join us in the Choir, your presence in the audience and support through sponsorship or placement of advertisements in our house programme will be greatly appreciated. For details, please refer to the attached promotion package.

SPCC Alumni Choir 30th Anniversary Concert

Dear Alumni,

I am pleased to inform you that the Alumni Choir will be organizing a concert in celebration of its 30th Anniversary, details as follows:

Alumni Choir News

The St. Paul’s Co-educational College Alumni Choir was first established in 1980 by past School Principal the late Dr B M Kotewall. In addition to its own concerts, regular performances at the School’s Summer Concert and Carol Service at St. John’s Cathedral all these years, the Alumni Choir will be presenting a series of concerts in celebration of its 30th Anniversary in 2010.
We welcome any sponsorship which will provide important support to the Alumni Choir. Sponsors contributing over HK$500 will be acknowledged in the subsequent concert house programme.

About Us

The St Paul’s Co-educational College Alumni Choir was first established in 1980 by past School Principal the late Dr B M Kotewall who appointed the Hon Mrs Selina Chow as the Choir’s convener. That same year, the Choir made their first guest performance at the School’s Summer Concert and Carol Service. Thereafter, the Choir regularly performs at these annual concert occasions.

Apart from live performances, the Choir has participated in the CD recordings at the 70th, 75th and 85th School Anniversaries. The Choir has also performed with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra at the Live Concert/Recording of Alumnus Michael Kwan.

In 1998, under the conductorship of former Music Master Mr Jimmy Chan, the St Paul’s Co-educational College Alumni Choir presented their first choral concert. In the next few years, a series of “Towards 20 Years” concerts created a whole new prospect for the Choir. Thereafter, the Choir was invited by former School Principal Mr Henry C K Poon to host the annual Carol Service at the St John’s Cathedral for school alumni.

The St Paul’s Co-educational College Alumni Choir has now been established for close to 30 years and its annual performances have been enthusiastically supported by the school alumni. Many new talents have emerged in recent years and numerous young alumni have since taken up the role of conductors, soloists and accompanists. In December 2005, the choir joined the St Paul’s Co-educational College Concert Choir, School Orchestra and several overseas alumni choirs to perform GF Handel’s “Messiah” at the School’s 90th Anniversary.
