Dear fellow alumni,

Thanks to the overwhelming warm support from our alumni, this issue of Newsletter chronicled the many social, musical, sports and community service activities and events organised by our Alumni Association in the past six months.

One of the highlights was undoubtedly our “A Night in Shanghai” themed Annual Dinner in October 2024. It was an evening of elegance and nostalgia, with many of our guests arriving in a stunning array of Chinese attire that showcased their creativity and personal style. Moreover, the vibrant décor, delectable cuisine and lively atmosphere transported us back to Shanghai in the 1920s. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the organising committee and all helpers who contributed to make this event a resounding success.

In addition to celebrating our connections, we also reaffirmed our commitment to serving the community. In the heart of Tseung Kwan O, a bright and striking mural now adorns the Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Bridge. At the invitation of NGO Paint Beautiful Hong Kong, the SPCCAA was proud to co-sponsor and be co-named for this 114-metre mural wall project along the pedestrian path of the bridge. This two-day project under the warm embrace of the sun brought together over 170 alumni and their families, marking the largest community service initiative undertaken by the alumni association to date. The mural is not just a visual kaleidoscope of colours and creativity, but a symbol of unity and service. We invite you to visit the Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Bridge and witness this picturesque mural for yourself. The bridge also has a cycling path; therefore, it would be a perfect choice for a family day out. Please take a moment to appreciate the effort and enthusiasm that went into transforming a simple wall into a canvas of dreams.

Last but not least, I am pleased to announce the celebratory launch of our alma mater’s 110th anniversary this year. Our celebration will unfold over an exciting series of events spanning from 2025 to 2027, marking not only our 110th but also our 111th anniversary. Please mark your calendar for our kick-off event, the Open Days at the Secondary School, on 11 and 12 October 2025. Stay tuned for more details on upcoming events and how you can participate in this grand celebration. Your involvement and support are what make our Alumni Association truly special.
